Shares of L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.6 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.39 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Coforge Ltd.(down 1.91 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 1.57 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.35 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.3 per cent down at 35307.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 82.25 points at 24246.7, while the BSE Sensex stood down 315.06 points at 79801.43.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Country Condos, Anzen India Energy, Bannari Amman, Synergy Green Ind and Mangalore Chem hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while GI Engineering, Gensol Engg, Revathi Equipment In, IndInfravit Trust and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
