After collecting Rs. 4.50 crores on Monday, the need of the hour for Kesari Chapter 2 was to stay over Rs. 4 crores mark on Tuesday as well. The film requires a long run for itself and to do that it was prudent that collections keep coming on a consistent basis. Well, what happened was even better as not just Rs. 4 crores but even Rs. 5 crores mark was surpassed, what with Rs. 5.04 crores coming in.
This was also enabled by the fact that the ticket prices were reduced to Rs. 99/= at various properties (this is a Tuesday offer for all movies by certain multiplex chains), as a result of which the footfalls were much higher than Monday. This historic drama needs audience word of mouth to help it gain more traction on a day by day basis and while the critical acclaim is already there, enhanced eyeballs is only going to spread further good word around it amongst the larger audience.
The Akshay Kumar starrer has now reached Rs. 39.16 crores in 5 days and there are a couple of more days to go before the first week comes to a close. It’s a given that Rs. 45 crores would be crossed before the film steps into the second week and it would be interesting to see how much ahead of that does it manage to go. Eventually, it would be sustenance over the second weekend that will decide the overall lifetime score of this Karan Singh Tyagi directed film.
