It may sound hard to believe, but a woman says a casual chat with ChatGPT ended up saving her life and her baby’s. In an Instagram post, content creator Natallia Tarrien shared that she had asked ChatGPT a question “just for fun” about feeling slight tightness in her jaw. That simple question led to an emergency delivery and doctors later told her it likely saved both her and her unborn child.
Natallia Tarrien, who was eight months pregnant, shared that she casually asked ChatGPT, “Why does my jaw feel tight?” thinking it was nothing serious. But the AI told that she should check her blood pressure. “I checked, and it was extremely high,” she said. “I thought it would drop, but it kept rising.”
Then, ChatGPT told Tarrien to call an ambulance immediately. “When we got to the hospital, my blood pressure was 200/146,” she shared. “I was 8 months pregnant, and the doctors quickly decided that my baby had to be delivered right away.”
Her son was born safely, and both mother and baby are doing well now. Later, a doctor told her something chilling: “If you had gone to bed that night, you wouldn’t have woken up.”
Tarrien expressed her deep gratitude, saying, “After my delivery, my blood pressure continued to rise for five days. At one point, I even lost my vision for a while. I still get chills thinking about it. It all started from one small symptom and one random question. Thank you, ChatGPT, for saving two lives.”
In another instance, a Reddit user shared that ChatGPT helped them resolve a jaw issue they had struggled with for over five years, all in under a minute.
While these stories have gone viral on social media, many users have cautioned against using ChatGPT or similar AI tools as replacements for professional medical advice.
