In a major twist to a long-running case, a woman from Kerala has told the court that her molestation complaint against a former paramedical teacher was false. She admitted that she had accused him under pressure from others.

The case dates back to 2017, when the woman had accused CD Jomon, who ran a paramedical training centre in Kuruppanthara, of molesting her during a training session. Jomon, from Ayamkudi Maduraveli, was arrested soon after. His institute was shut down, and he faced social rejection and deep personal losses.

Now, after seven years, the woman’s confession has brought the case to a close and cleared Jomon’s name. Jomon said the false case turned his life upside down. Once a respected teacher, he was suddenly treated like an outcast by his relatives and neighbours. His training institute was shut down, and he lost his only source of income. To make ends meet, he had to do small, low-paying jobs. Things got so bad that at one point, he even thought about ending his life.

Jomon said that before the complaint was filed, he got some anonymous calls asking for money. He now believes those calls were part of a plan to trap him.

But in a surprising twist, the woman who had filed the case recently found out how much Jomon had suffered because of the false charges. She went to his hometown with her husband and met him in person. In an emotional moment, she even went with Jomon to a local church, where she admitted in front of everyone that the complaint was fake and made because of pressure from others.

During the church service, the woman publicly apologized to Jomon and his family in front of everyone. Later, she went to court and officially took back her statement, which cleared Jomon of the charges that had ruined his life for years.

After the court hearing, Jomon spoke to reporters and said he finally felt relieved. “The truth is out,” he said. After suffering for so long, he now feels like he can finally breathe again.
