BARON has released his remix of DJ Gregory’s “Block Party,” dusting off the 2000 Africanism staple and reimagining it for today’s dancefloors.

The original, with its Milton Hamilton horn samples and marching snares, was Yellow Productions’ declaration that European dance music could authentically channel African rhythmic traditions. BARON’s 2025 version maintains its cross-continental conversation while speaking in grooves.

Rather than drowning the track in trendy production flourishes, the French producer peels back layers to expose its raw tribal house framework, then methodically reconstructs it with deeper bass textures and hypnotic percussion loops. In his hands, “Block Party” is revamped with the kind of cultural awareness that honors its origins while acknowledging dance music’s evolutionary path.

The track is out now via Yellow Productions after receiving early DJ support from Pete Tong, Jamie Jones, Bedouin, AMÉMÉ and Franky Rizardo, among other influential DJs.
