Actor Eijaz Khan, known for his roles in Netflix’s Dhoom Dhaam and the blockbuster Jawan, is celebrating Ramadan with a fresh perspective on life. As he observes fasting (Roza), he is prioritizing spirituality, mental well-being, and a much-needed digital detox.
Eijaz Khan reveals why he opted for social media detox this Ramadan; says, “I realized that this habit was unhealthy and giving me a cheap dopamine rush”
Detoxing from Social Media During Ramadan
For Eijaz, this Ramadan is not just about fasting but also about breaking unhealthy habits. The actor has consciously decided to step away from social media, recognizing its impact on his mental health. “One thing I am trying to detox from is social media. I was supposed to start shooting for the next season of City of Dreams, but the schedule got pushed. Suddenly, I had a lot of free time, and when you have free time, you invariably end up spending more of it on your phone. I realized that this habit was unhealthy and giving me a cheap dopamine rush, so I decided to put a stop to it. Since Ramadan is the month of abstinence from addictions, I thought this was the perfect time to control that,” Eijaz shared.
He further emphasized how distancing himself from digital distractions has been a conscious effort. “I am making a conscious effort to detox from social media and distance myself from the addiction of blue screens,” he added.
A shift in priorities: From workaholic to work-life balance
Having spent years prioritizing work over everything else, Eijaz is now reassessing his approach to life. “During Ramadan, I am trying to understand the balance between my personal life and work in a better way. Until now, I have worked extremely hard, and I used to take pride in prioritizing work over my personal life. However, I never paid much attention to my health and kept pushing myself. But after a certain point, you start to feel its impact, and that is exactly what I am experiencing now,” he admitted.
Moving forward, Eijaz is focusing not just on financial health but also on mental and social well-being. “By social health, I mean investing more time in my happiness by being present in the happiness of my loved ones,” he expressed.
Cherished Ramadan Memories with Family
Recalling his most fulfilling Ramadan, Eijaz fondly remembered celebrating with his sister and her family last year. “That time was truly fulfilling because, usually, I live alone and don’t get many opportunities to celebrate these special moments with family. Even standing together for prayers is something I rarely experience. But last year, I got that chance, and I am truly grateful for it. I hope that in the coming Ramadans, I continue to have my family’s company,” he shared.
As Eijaz embraces Ramadan with a mindful approach, he hopes to continue prioritizing faith, balance, and personal well-being beyond the holy month.
