Donald Trump has made history by becoming the richest President in the United States, according to the 2025 Hurun Global Rich List. The 78-year-old billionaire saw his fortune triple to $7.2 billion, thanks to his 53% stake in Truth Social, his social media platform. This financial surge earned him a spot in the prestigious Top 500 on the global rich list.
The Hurun Report credits Trump’s rise in wealth to his growing fan base and his influence on Truth Social. Additionally, the report noted that Trump, along with close allies Elon Musk and Peter Thiel, benefited from what it called a “post-election bonus.”
“Close allies Elon Musk and tech investor Peter Thiel saw their wealth surge 82 per cent to US$420 billion and 67 per cent to US$14 billion. The US President’s following has contributed to Trump’s wealth almost tripling to US$7.2 billion,” the report said.
Trump’s financial empire includes real estate holdings, luxury golf resorts, and the Mar-a-Lago estate. Forbes estimates his net worth at $6.7 billion as of January 2025.
A surprising addition to Trump’s wealth came from the $TRUMP memecoin, which soared in value after its launch. This digital currency is now responsible for nearly 89% of his overall fortune.
With a second term as the 47th President of the United States, Trump’s mix of traditional real estate assets and new-age digital ventures continues to boost his financial standing.
Elon Musk retains title as world’s richest person
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, remains the wealthiest person in the world, with a fortune that climbed by 82% to reach $420 billion.
Meanwhile, French billionaire Bernard Arnault, who heads luxury goods giant LVMH, saw a loss of $18 billion, pushing him to seventh place with a net worth of $157 billion.
