Bollywood’s beloved filmmaker Karan Johar recently escaped to the Maldives for his first-ever visit, and he’s already dreaming of a return. Sharing a series of stylish snapshots on Instagram from the luxurious Jumeirah Olhahali Island, Johar captioned his post, “Sun… Sea….solace….. my first visit to the Maldives and these are just some candid (ya right!!!) shots where I was caught unaware / thank you to @jumeiraholhahaliisland @jumeirah for the terrific hospitality and warmth and what a stunning property! A Stylish Maldives Debut
Karan Johar traded Mumbai’s hustle for the serene turquoise waters of the Maldives. His Instagram carousel featured him lounging on a wooden deck overlooking the ocean, dressed in a breezy white linen outfit accessorized with a chunky wooden bead necklace and beige sunglasses. Another shot captured him striking a pose with effortless charm, exuding his signature flair against the backdrop of Jumeirah Olhahali Island’s pristine beauty.
Johar didn’t hold back on praising the hospitality at Jumeirah Olhahali Island, a 5-star all-villa retreat in the North Malé Atoll. “Thank you to @jumeiraholhahaliisland @jumeirah for the terrific hospitality and warmth and what a stunning property!” he wrote, hinting at a future visit with, “Can’t wait to come back again.”
A Tease of What’s Next?
While the Maldives getaway stole the spotlight, Johar’s post comes hot on the heels of another Instagram update on March 20, where he revealed he’s introducing a new filmmaker under his Dharma Productions banner. In a lengthy note, he shared that this debutant director poured 4-5 years into a project delayed by the pandemic, calling it “one of Dharma’s proudest films.”
Many speculated that he will be sharing an update on Kesari 2 as the post was shared a day before the sixth anniversary of the first installment. However, KJo is yet to drop an update on his upcoming project.
