Aamir Khan’s last film, Laal Singh Chaddha, co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, struggled at the box office and was labelled a flop. He has openly spoken about how its failure affected him. In a recent interaction, when asked to guess his films based on poorly described plots, Aamir quickly identified Laal Singh Chaddha due to a humorous reference to its box office performance. He also took the situation in stride, joking about it sportingly.

A video shared by Aamir Khan Productions on Instagram features Aamir Khan trying to decode vague plot descriptions of his films. When presented with the clue, “She didn’t see it coming,” initially puzzled Aamir, but he eventually guessed Fanaa. Another clue, “He had a good run. The film didn’t,” led him to identify Laal Singh Chaddha.
He then quipped, “Laal Singh Chaddha. I’ve run a lot. I’ve run all across the country. But the film didn’t do well. The thing is, my films rarely don’t do well, so I hold them very close to me).”
The video sparked reactions from fans and industry colleagues, including Taare Zameen Par actor Darsheel Safary, who responded with laughing emojis. While many viewers found the clip amusing, others praised Aamir for his grace in handling the situation.
This isn’t the first time Aamir Khan has spoken about Laal Singh Chaddha’s failure. Last month, he described himself as an “emotional person” and admitted, “When my films don’t work, I feel sad. Filmmaking is tough, and sometimes things don’t go as planned. In Laal Singh Chaddha, my performance was a bit too high, and it didn’t work as well as Tom Hanks’ version.” He added, “When my films fail, I go into a sort of depression for two to three weeks. Then, I sit with my team, analyse what went wrong, and learn from it. I really value my failures because they push me to do better.”
Laal Singh Chaddha hit theatres in August 2022 but failed to resonate with audiences.
