Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to ensure strict noise control and public safety during the Holi festival. He also reviewed development projects and law and order in the state during a meeting at the Circuit House.
Noise control and festival safety
Yogi Adityanath called for permanent noise control measures at religious places, ensuring loudspeakers do not create disturbance. He strictly prohibited high-volume DJs during Holi celebrations. Officials were also asked to install CCTV cameras at important places like banks, financial institutions, shops, and commercial areas to ensure safety.
The Chief Minister ordered strict action against cattle smuggling. He warned that smugglers, vehicle owners, and any police officers involved would face serious consequences. ADG Zone Piyush Mordia was directed to carry out district-level reviews to enforce the state’s complete ban on cattle smuggling.
He also asked for increased police vigilance during ‘Holika Dahan’ and Holi celebrations. Additionally, each police station must identify the top ten criminals in their area to keep an eye on lawbreakers.
Development and public welfare plans
CM Yogi Adityanath wants development projects to move faster without getting delayed. He said that a special officer, called a nodal officer, should be in charge of each project to make sure everything runs smoothly. These officers need to check the work every week and give updates on the progress. He also said the work should be quick, but the quality must remain good—no cutting corners.
With summer coming, he ordered officials to ensure a continuous water supply. He also proposed beautifying flyover pillars with artistic paintings and good advertisements.
For public convenience, he directed the creation of enough vending zones for street hawkers. He also asked for affordable meals, free drinking water, and proper seating at wheat procurement centres. The district magistrate confirmed that wheat would be bought at Rs 2,425 per quintal starting March 17 at 36 centres.
The Chief Minister further instructed officials to set up hostels and low-cost canteens for working women in the district, ensuring their comfort and safety.
