External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar was presented a jersey bearing his name by John Abraham, with whom he had an “interesting conversation” about the actor’s upcoming film, The Diplomat, which will be released on Holi on Friday.
A photo posted by Jaishankar on X showed his football jersey with his name and No. 9 printed on it. Apart from The Diplomat film, Jaishankar and Abraham two discussed other topics, including football and the Northeast.
“An interesting conversation with @TheJohnAbraham on his new movie The Diplomat. As also on football, the Northeast and our respective worlds,” Jaishankar tweeted.
The meeting came a day ahead of the release of The Diplomat on Friday, in which Abraham plays the role of an Indian diplomat, JP Singh.
In the film directed by Shivam Nair, JP Singh (essayed by Abraham) tries to repatriate an Indian girl from Pakistan, where she was duped and forced into getting married against her will.
Apart from John Abraham, The Diplomat features a powerful ensemble cast, including Sadia Khateeb, Sharib Hashmi, Revathy, and Kumud Mishra. It releases in cinemas on March 14.
Earlier this month, Jaishankar received a Tottenham Hotspur’s No. 1 jersey with his name printed on it from UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy during his official visit to the United Kingdom.
