A heartbreaking event happened in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, where a 14-year-old girl named Priyanshi Pandey passed away due to a heart attack on Sunday. She was watching the Champions Trophy final with her family when the unfortunate incident took place. Her family and the entire community are deeply saddened by her sudden loss.
What happened?
Priyanshi was a big cricket fan and was happily cheering for Team India while watching the match with her family. Some reports said that she was very shocked and emotional when Virat Kohli got out after scoring just one run. This may have led to her heart attack. After she fainted, her family quickly took her to the hospital, but the doctors said she had already passed away when she arrived.
However, her father, Ajay Pandey, denied that his daughter’s death was linked to the cricket match. He stated that there was no connection between the match and her sudden passing. A neighbor who witnessed the incident also supported his statement, adding that at the time of the heart attack, India had not lost any wickets, and Virat Kohli had not yet started batting.
Father and neighbors clarify the incident
Priyanshi’s father, an advocate, shared that he had stepped out to the market after watching the first inning of the match. During the second inning, his daughter was watching the game with other family members when she suddenly collapsed. Upon hearing the news, he rushed back home and took her to the hospital, but it was too late.
Amit Chandra, a neighbor who witnessed the incident, confirmed that the Indian team was not struggling at the time of her collapse. He stated that there was no distressing moment in the game when Priyanshi suffered the heart attack, further contradicting earlier claims that linked her death to Kohli’s dismissal.
Even though Priyanshi’s passing was very sudden, her father decided not to do a post-mortem examination. Instead, he brought her home and performed the last rites. Her unexpected death has left her family and the entire community in deep sadness and shock.
