Actress turned reality show star Sana Makbul recently made a shocking confession that she has been diagnosed with several physical conditions and how it has impacted her life. From taking several medications including steroids to turning vegan, Sana opened up about the many lifestyle changes she has adapted over the years, and also explained how she has been dealing with her autoimmune hepatitis and liver issues.

In comedian-host Bharti Singh’s podcast, Sana Makbul talked about her health condition which she has been dealing with for more than 3 years, and also spoke about her dietary restrictions and shared, “I have turned vegan recently due to health reasons… a lot of people don’t know that I am an autoimmune hepatitis patient. I have a liver disease, it was diagnosed in 2020. It has no specific symptoms… in this, my body cells are attacking the organ, so in my case, it’s sometimes Lupus; it hits your kidneys or causes arthritis. Samantha Ruth Prabhu has myositis, which is a muscle condition. I have it with the liver.”
She went on to speak about the extensive treatment she has to undergo to battle this diagnosis. “I take steroids, suppressants, some medicines. It’s a lifestyle disorder, but with the autoimmune condition, the liver condition is a tricky thing. My health keeps fluctuating, I don’t know if this can be cured completely” she said leaving her fans concerned.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the actress has also been actively involved in promoting awareness regarding the autoimmune diseases and hepatitis. The Telly star, however, despite the health condition, has always ensured that she continues with her work commitments without any hindrance. In fact, Sana has been a part of reality shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi (2021) and Bigg Boss OTT 3 (2024) after she was diagnosed with these issues.
