JioStar, the joint venture between Reliance Industries and Disney, has launched a multi-pronged workforce restructuring programme following the Star India-Viacom18 merger, including layoffs in areas of duplication, an aggressive outplacement effort and redeployment of tech and digital staff into the Jio ecosystem.
Highly placed sources in the company suggest that once the exercise is complete, it could result in the exit of a little over 500 employees. JioStar declined to comment.
