Director Ahmed Khan is set to kickstart the final schedule of the much-anticipated film Welcome to the Jungle in Dubai and the Middle East. As he prepares for this new chapter, Khan reflects on his remarkable 33-year friendship with superstar Akshay Kumar, a bond marked by mutual respect and shared experiences in the film industry.

A Friendship That Began with Suhaag
Ahmed Khan’s journey with Akshay Kumar began in 1993 with the film Suhaag. Recalling their early days, Khan said, “This is a journey of a 33-year-old friendship and work collaboration between Akshay and me, which started from Suhaag to Welcome to the Jungle. I remember Suhaag was the film before Rangeela when Akshay told me to do a music piece. He’s very innovative, and he wanted me to do his introduction bit. No hero would do that, or any choreographer would attempt that, but he pulled it off so well. We had fun, and it turned out brilliant.”
Lessons Learned from Akshay Kumar
Over the years, Khan has not only collaborated with Kumar on numerous projects but has also learned valuable lessons from the superstar. “Akshay’s enthusiasm and energy are unmatched. The best thing I learned from him is that he’s never got aggressive. He’s such a humble person; he never shows his anger. If things go wrong, he just takes it as a pinch of salt and moves ahead. He always looks at the positive side,” Khan shared.
A Bond That Stands the Test of Time
From Suhaag to Welcome to the Jungle, Khan and Kumar’s relationship has remained strong. “Akshay has been a very good support as a friend to me, and I have enjoyed all my work with him till date. That young Akshay from Suhaag to the superstar in Welcome to the Jungle—it’s been a great journey,” Khan added. As Ahmed Khan gears up to shoot the final schedule of Welcome to the Jungle in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, fans eagerly await the film.
