A video of a Wednesday night argument between Rajasthan MLA Kirodi Lal Meena and Mahesh Nagar Station House Officer (SHO) Kavita Sharma has gone viral. In the footage, Meena is seen shouting, “Why did you bring this woman to the station?” while Sharma responds, “Please speak properly. I am doing my duty.”

Following the video’s circulation, Meena approached Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham on Thursday morning, demanding Sharma’s arrest. Meena accused the SHO of locking individuals in rooms at night and detaining women from their residences without proper grounds. He further alleged that Sharma had faced previous charges and was controversially appointed under the sports quota.

Meena, who resigned from his position as Rural Development and Agriculture Minister, has been vocal against the state government. Earlier, he announced that he would be holding a protest on December 5, demanding the cancellation of the Sub-Inspector recruitment exam over allegations of irregularities.

The late-night altercation occurred after police visited a hostel to detain participants organising the protest. Meena intervened, arriving at both the hostel and the police station to secure their release, leading to a heated exchange with officers.

One of the detained individuals, as seen in the viral video, is the wife of Vikas Vidhuri, a student leader who climbed a water tank during a protest demanding the exam’s cancellation. The Rajasthan High Court is set to hear a petition regarding the exam on October 10, where the state government is expected to present its case.
