A video, allegedly showing shots being fired at Punjabi singer AP Dhillon’s residence in Canada’s Vancouver, has emerged. The video gives a glimpse into the chaos of the September 1 attack, which also involved two vehicles being torched.
Taking responsibility for the attack, the Lawrence Bishnoi-Godara gang member on social media said, “On the night of September 1, there were shootings at two places in Canada: Victoria Island (B.C.) and Woodbridge, Toronto. I, Rohit Godara of the Lawrence Bishnoi group, take responsibility for both incidents.”
The gang alleged that the attack was in response to the singer featuring Salman Khan in a music video.
“The house on Victoria Island belongs to AP Dhillon. This person is getting a lot of attention after including Salman Khan in his song. We came to your place; either come out, or show yourself in action. The underworld life you all try to copy is the life we’re actually living. Stay in your place, or you’ll be killed,” the post reads.
The gang is currently under probe in connection with high profile cases, including the killings of Sidhu Moosewala and Baba Sidiqqui.
Meanwhile, the Canadian police have arrested 25-year-old Abhijeet Kingra in connection with the shooting incident outside the residence of AP Dhillon. He is being charged with the “discharge of a firearm with intent and arson,” and is slated to be presented before an Ontario court today.
The police have also issued an arrest warrant for another suspect, 23-year-old Vikram Sharma, who the authorities believe is in India.
