As Israel’s military conflict with Iran and Hezbollah continues to further aggravate by the day, the administration in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district has beefed up the security of Jewish nationals living in famous tourist spots like Kasol and Manali.

In the wake of the upcoming Jewish festivals, Yom Kippur, which is celebrated from October 12 to 15, and Simchat Torah on October 24 and 25, proper security arrangements have been put in place to ensure the safety of around 300 Israeli citizens living in Kasol and Manali.

According to local administration, a large number of Israelis are expected to gather to celebrate these major Jewish festivals, warranting a security risk.

However, Israeli nationals say that they feel safe here and India feels like home to them as there are so many Jewish people living in the vicinity, locals are friendly and even the signboards in Hebrew have been put up for their benefit.

Israel has been engaged in a military conflict with Iran-backed terrorist groups Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis since October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian group fired hundreds of rockets on the Jewish country.
