After heavy rains lashed Bengaluru on Saturday, causing traffic snarls due to waterlogging at several locations, more rains are in store for the Karnataka capital.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued a yellow alert forecasting that the city would witness rains for the next five days, with thundershowers in some areas.
The weather body predicted cloudy skies with spells of rain and thundershowers in Bengaluru from June 2 (Sunday) to June 4 (Tuesday), while there will be rain on June 5 and 6.
Amid the rains, the city recorded the maximum temperature at 33.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 26.9 degrees Celsius.
Also, several parts of another southern state of Kerala are bracing for rains over the next seven days, a weather report said.
Kozhikode in Kerala is forecast to see rain and thundershowers from June 2 to June 8 with the temperatures settling between 35 degrees and 25 degrees Celsius in the next seven days.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain spells have also been predicted for Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
As per the latest reports by the weather department, Chennai is likely to see partly cloudy skies with the possibility of light rain with the maximum temperature settling around 34 to 35 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature at 29 degrees Celsius.
