Direct to Home (DTH) provider, Dish TV, has jumped on the boat to provide bundled traditional and digital services to garner subscriber churn with platform- agnostic content consumption as on-demand viewing getting more prevalent.

The DTH company on Tuesday announced the launch of ‘Dish TV Smart+’ to provide customers with access to both TV and Over-the-Top (OTT) content.

With its latest proposition, all Dish TV and D2H customers, including both new and existing subscribers, can access OTT apps along with their chosen TV subscription pack along with flexible ‘on any screen, anywhere, and anytime’ option.

Additionally, Dish TV is also set to collaborate with top TV and Mobile Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to seamlessly integrate their services into these devices, thereby enriching the overall user experience.

Commenting on the new proposition, Manoj Dobhal, CEO of Dish TV India Limited, stated, “The launch of ‘Dish TV Smart+’ Services represents more than just a proposition; it embodies the vision to redefine entertainment consumption in India, which is getting smarter and bigger. In a market flooded with options, customers often find themselves overwhelmed. We aim to simplify their choices by offering a holistic and complete entertainment solution.”

“With ‘Dish TV Smart+’ Services, we are catering to all needs of a modern Indian family, staying true to our motto – Naye Bharat Ka Smart Connection,” Dobhal added.A Ficci-EY report showed that the domestic pay TV market lost two million subscribers in 2023 and as a result bundled services are being considered by traditional TV distribution platforms as a means of retaining lost customers to OTT.Notably, for a long time now, telecom providers Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio have been bundling data and content. Tata Play, a DTH provider, is one of the standalone players that bundles OTT and linear TV services for customers under a single bill.
