On Sunday, April 28, the Olympic torch journeyed through the breathtaking Corinth Canal aboard the historic three-masted vessel Belem en route to France for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Departing from the port of Piraeus on Saturday (April 27) morning, the Belem, constructed in 1896, the same year as the inaugural modern Olympics, symbolized the concluding phase of preparations leading up to the Games’ opening ceremony on July 26.
