An Income Tax Department employee took his own life after alleged unbearable harassment from his would-be bride.

Hareram Satyaprakash Pandey, a 36-year-old Income Tax officer stationed in Nashik, was engaged to Mohini Pandey from Varanasi.

However, during their engagement, Hareram found Mohini hugging her boyfriend, Suresh Pandey. When Hareram confronted Mohini stating he would only marry her if she ended her relationship with Suresh, she allegedly refused and threatened Hareram that she would file a dowry case against him and his family.

This continued harassment led to Hareram experiencing mental distress as he was worried of social disgrace, ultimately leading to suicide.

Hareram was found dead only after his neighbours neighbors noticed 3-4 day old milk bags outside hiss residence. Concerned, they informed the police, leading to the discovery of his body.

Consequently, Hareram’s brother, Harekrishna Pandey, filed a complaint and a case of abetment to suicide was registered against Mohini, Suresh, and another individual named Mayank Munendra Pandey.

Harekrishna’s complaint claims that the harassment and psychological manipulation directed at Hareram contributed to his death.

Further investigations into the matter are underway.
