First-time MLA Rekha Gupta was picked as the next Chief Minister of Delhi on Wednesday. Soon after the BJP announced their decision, former AAP Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and outgoing Chief Minister Atishi congratulated Gupta on X.
AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, who lost the Delhi polls from the New Delhi seat, said that he hoped Rekha Gupta would fulfil all the promises BJP had made to the citizens.
“Many congratulations to Rekha Gupta ji on becoming the Chief Minister of Delhi. I hope that she will fulfil all the promises made to the people of Delhi. We will support her in every work for the development and welfare of the people of Delhi,” Rekha Gupta said.
Outgoing Chief Minister Atishi said it is a matter of happiness that Delhi will be led by a woman. Rekha Gupta will be the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi.
“Congratulations to Rekha Gupta ji on becoming the Chief Minister of Delhi. It is a matter of happiness that Delhi will be led by a woman. I hope that the promises made to the people of Delhi will be fulfilled. You will get the full support of Aam Aadmi Party for the development of Delhi,” Atishi said.
Both Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi said that AAP would lend its support to the development works.
Rekha Gupta will take oath as Chief Minister tomorrow at the historic Ramlila Ground.
