Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran on Friday to discuss potential investments in the state as part of the “Swarna Andhra Pradesh” initiative.

Following their meeting, the TDP-led NDA government announced the formation of a special task force to explore further investment opportunities and develop implementation strategies.

The task force will be chaired by Naidu, with Chandrasekaran serving as co-chairman, along with other prominent industrialists.

The state government is also mulling establishing the Centre for Global Leadership in Amaravati, in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), with Tata Group as a key partner.

In addition, a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) development centre will be set up in Visakhapatnam. Naidu and Chandrasekaran also discussed expanding Air India and Vistara Airlines operations within Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier on Tuesday (August 13), Naidu directed officials to formulate an action plan for the setting up of food processing, aqua and horticulture besides mineral-based industrial development parks, saying the state has the “most favourable atmosphere for establishing such units”.

Chairing a meeting to review the functioning of the Departments of Industries and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), the Chief Minister told the officials to conduct a detailed study on how many industrial development parks exist now and the opportunities to develop more such units.
